  Dear Malik,

Thank you for your great lesson yesterday. What me and my boyfriend liked about your teaching was that you do everything methodically, with passion and charm.

You pay attention to the smallest details which are so important: how to hold hands, how to show “signals” to a girl “translation”, “rotation”, etc.

Thank you once again and see you soon.

All the best,

Kristina&Rimas from Vilnius, Lithuania

You are awesome!!! You are a professional dancer :0)

Thanx!
Take care!
Kristina :0), Vilnius Lithuania

Hola, Malik!

it was very nice to meet you... I liked very much your lessons and took into account all your remarks concerning my dancing mistakes - I think it's the best way to improve dancing skills ;)

looking forward to hearing from you and hope to meet you in Lithuania again! ;)

Dear Fisherman

Thank you very much for the great dancing lessons in Tallinn, Estonia.
It was real pleasure and you are a very good teacher! (a little too sexy, too arrogant and too charming but otherwise okey;)
Very clear is Fish position now, try not to forget it.
Other positions and combinations need to be improved yet..
And that's why you definitely have to come back!:)

With all the best
your darling

Hi,

I came to know about tango argentino in 6.08, in Tallinn. I just want to say that your "lesson" gave me very good feeling and only positive emotions. I was very sad that I hadn´t salsa.... I just didn´t knew about it. But thank you for that emotion.

With best regards,

Carmen Uibo

Hi!

How are you?))As I promised, I write to you:)Thank you for your lessons. Your
lessons were as a ray of light among a boring life)) Now I have understood ,
that dances should be always a part of my life, because they make me happy and
passionate person!!!Dance is a balsam for the soul!!!:);)The beauty will save
the world(It was written by the philosopher V.Solovjev)!!!:);)But I would
tell, that the beauty of dance will rescue the world! And that is truth!!!:);)

With best Wishes

Mrs.O!ga:)

It was nice to have you here, maybe we'll see you again this way sometime.

Xavier from Tallinn

Hi, Malik,

I like your teaching. The style of teaching is such what I expect from teachers. You show mistakes, and say - you, you and you are not correct. And say exactly what is wrong to whom.

It's good that you could come to our country and that there is possibility to dance with good dancer, teacher.

Maybe somebody can organized salsa beach party at the seaside or in other place in order you could see Latvia more :)

Thanks a lot :)

Have nice day!

Linda from Riga, Latvia

I really enjoyed your salsa and tango classes! Your are just
different! And i am amazed by salsa dancing your style and
performance. Hope one day i will dance like you. Are you thinking of
coming to Riga again?
Hope to meet you again.
Take care and all the best !

Dimitri from Riga, Latvia

I've been learning salsa in different clubs in Hanoi but I've just
discovered what dancing salsa really means.  It is when Malik came to our clubs
and revealed us the  secret of dancing salsa.

What I really love about him teaching is he taught us the very basic techniques
such as translation and rotation, how leaders signal to followers the moves they
are going to make... These are the foundation for us to build upon and add
variations later on once we master the basic techniques. Quickly as a teacher,
he earned our trust. Before him, nobody ever explained to us as clearly as he
did the position of the bodies, hands and even fingers, line of movements,
visual signal...I love his metaphors of the "stone throwing" and "yo-yo"
movements that made some techniques easier for us to understand. As a dedicated
and very knowledgeable teacher, he also made us aware that dancing salsa is not
only an art but also an rigorous discipline as positions and moves obey to
certain logics.

But more importantly, beyond techniques, he made us aware of the true spirit of
salsa, bachata, zook..and this hot intimacy between dancing partners that is not
easily accepted in our conservative Asian culture. I think we will continue
dancing salsa but from now not the same way we used to. Our meeting with Malik
really opened our eyes and hearts.

I stronly recommend him for anyone who loves salsa.

Nhanchung  from Hanoi, Vietnam

As a tourist: he is so adaptable, ready to take part in any action or
to create magic even in the culture that he has never been to.

As a "stranger": wonderful appearance and social skill, he turns head wherever
he goes, even if all he does is walking.

As a player: skillful use of facial expression and body language. Malik is the
expert at power game, timing, rythm, words.

As an actor: He can "be there" any moment, perfect in creating little "stage"
and his own stardom and connection with his audience, be it on the street, in a
meal, a performance, or in a classroom.

As a dancer: Wonderful body movement, fluidity, music interpretion, accurate
leading.. Salsa is not his best dance.

As a dance teacher: Sharp, clear, strict. He has extreme intelligence and
imagination to convert complicate theory into simple symbols. Malik enjoys
breaking down most complicated and hidden techniques, giving them names that
anybody can understand instantly, comparing them to down-to-earth and
interesting examples from daily life. It requires more than just a decade of
dance exprience and tones of knowledge to be able to teach like he does. Malik
is perfect at analysis, he can break thing down in the most technical and
scientific way, then he with his emotion and imagination of an artist he
transform them into something beautiful and incredible that any student can
imagine.
No words can describe. I tried.

As a person: A big personality, a heart of gold.. .  Too much to handle, given
how attractive and talented he is. Malik is like an interestingly mixed meal in
a shiny catchy hotpot!!!!!!!

We will miss him alot!

Coucou Malik,

I think that your lessons were very interesting and very useful for me,
although I was not able to take the full advantage of them. I had not know
the Cuban Salsa before, so I was not able to learn it so fast. If you will have
workshops in Lodz in the future I will probably want to take part in them
and maybe I will be able to stay to the end.

Anyway I admire your greed for teaching people salsa. Thank you for coming
and teaching us.

Your way of teaching is really excellent and I really enjoyed your
attention to technique and details people normally don't think of. Add to that
your unique style and presence, and you'll understand why we liked you so much
here in Cyprus :).

Take care and continue with the good work!

Dusan from Cyprus

MAAALLLIIIIKKKK !!!
You were great in November when you came over to Cyprus. Your fun and healthy
attitude towards social dancing is great. I've been working on your technical
tips and it's improving my following.. sometimes it's just something small that
has big consequences ;-) but someone has to see it and you did. Your teaching
during workshops almost requires a wip LOL.
Well done and thanks,

So, before having the MALIK training i was dancing and learning salsa just for fun, i tried to dance as better as i can just by following the man lead and over all by followin the music rythm it was sympatic but i also had problems on executing complicated figures but i was saying:"no matter its not my fault, i'm not a professional, its a problem of boy leading and its a too difficult figure.....". happily i was able to undergo MALIK's training and that really makes the difference. during the course i discovered a very handsome professor, dancer and above all a very great person. the must that i appreciated during the lessons was the ability that MALIK had for simplifying teaching salsa. he emphesizes on the importance of knowing and well practicing of basic tecnicalities which will allow us (either boys than girls) performing most difficult appearing combinations. the lesson was done step by step and the dancing becomes more easier: the man had to lead, that's obvious, but how to lead???? that's more difficult. leading is not obliging, its proposing: a good leading is may be made of many little details but these many little details make the difference. simultaneously lady must follow, but how to follow???? it must be a permanent and active follow... not only executation of known figures. during the MALIK training we had the proof that all the kind's of salsa dancing are not only turns, cross body's or shows they are first of all knowledge of basic signs and tecnicalities. when you dance after the training you feel like you've never danced before but in reality you've never danced like this before. the "PLUS" of MALIK's training is he transmitt you his love for salsa, his devotion for dancing appears all along the lesson. you learn without the feeling of having a lesson and you feel able to dance with evry body evry where, but when you dance with malik you unhappily realize that good dancing is a hard task............ but you'll keep trying cause you'll have the keys for doing better. now you know that salsa is a big international family with a commun lungage of which you now possess the alphabet . SO HERE IN TUNISIA WE ARE ALL WAITING FOR MALIK'S NEXT TRAINING....................

I will try to improve my Salsa skill. In fact, I dance Salsa just for fun. I do not want to make it serious. However, your comments and recommendations are very useful to us.

By the way, the fact is that you led very well and very clear. Thanks for being such a nice instructor and dancer.

Finally, hope you and Sen enjoy. Take care,

Bien amicalement,

Keng, Ton amie

Malik and Sen are a legend. I am a little bit emphatic, it is true, but I spent such a great moment with them that I cannot help being so enthusiastic about them.

I am from Casablanca, Morocco, and they came last summer for a 15-day-intensive course: each day we had 3 hours lesson and then, we used to go out in dancing places to practise and enjoy.

My passion is dancing and not only did I find in Malik an amazing dancer, but I highly appreciated his talents as a great teacher: he knows how to transmit his art with pedagogy, humour and authority. He is professional, rigorous, and thanks to him, I learnt a lot. The good teachers are those with whom you learn, and who make you feel like going on and learning more and more. Thank you so much, AND COME BACK SOON!!!!!

Pensez-y

Maha de Casablanca

I hope your trip is going well...And thank you so much for visiting us...I was so pleased to meet you...You are so sweet people...and so good salsa dancers...thank you so much for everything...hope one day we'll have a chance to invite you here again...so maybe my future skills will help me to organize sth for you here;)...:):):)...
Best regards to Malik:)
Have a nice trip!!!...Kissssssssessssss:)

Ieva from Vilnius

Mr. Malik came to our town Bratislava in july 2005 and together with our
salsa lector Miro Vanek had decided to organize a 2 hour rueda lesson. We
have started with basic warm-up, different kinds of salsa steps, including sexy step:-).
Then we have formed a rueda circle and tried simple figures in the beginning
which had become more complicated towards the end of the lesson as our French lector added various elements.
We even improved our salsa style, girls had to be really feminine and more use their hands for example caress their hair. Guys had to pay attention to lead the girls properly.
The impression from the workshop was fine, we had a good laugh when somebody misunderstood what exactly should be done.
And afterwards everybody had a good feeling because we learned something new and had a really good time.

Malik and Sensual in Estonia 2005
We met Malik and Sensual in Estonia June 2005, they gave many great classes and performances. For us (dancers and teachers of ballroom and latin and salsa) they gave great foundation for teaching salsa. Many teachers don't have the ability to teach salsa technique from the very beginning and don't have the system that Malik have. It's the most useful for us.
As a persons Malik and Sensual were very plesant and fun. We had a great time.
We hope that you will remember the dog the Estonian sauna and of course us
Love from Estonia

Salut malik

Dear Malik!

I remember spending time with you this summer with very warm feelings. I just came today from salsa festival in Warshow, Poland, and I can say that you are between my favorite salsa teachers so far!
I hope to meet you again soon. I guess you must be very busy, but you know, once you'll have to visit all those beatyful ladies you've met! Would be another world tour for you! ;)
Anyway, once I go to France, I hope to see you and Sensual there, as you both are friends that I don't want to lose contact with. Salsa people are the best!

Keep in touch, my dears!

Overview of the Malik & Sensual Seminars

Sofia (Bulgaria)

My first meeting with Malik was in club “Salsa+” in Sofia, Bulgaria. I was very impressed when I saw Malik at first time.

He has own style of dancing either Cuban salsa or LA or other salsa style. Also I like very much his bachata style and zouk dancing with Sen.

According to the salsa teaching. It was a very big surprise for me, because he is one of the few salsa teachers which explains the basic principles of leading in salsa. No one in Bulgaria explains this, except Anjel Lopez, but now he is not in Bulgaria.

The atmosphere in his class is very light and gentle, because he explains very easy and in a good level for the students.

About Sen I can just say Tenderness, Mellowness and true spirit of ladies way of dancing salsa.

She can teach without words. The student only need to be calm and soft, she will doing everything to show the correct way of leading, especially in LA.

I have no enough words to say more about Malik and Sen. We need to dance to feel the whole thing and to get their experience in latin dances!

I am honored to know them as a friend and to be a part of their classes.

I would like to say many thanks for a Salsa couple from France - Malik &
Sensual - good teachers, nice and friendly people...
I and my dance club members enjoyed their salsa lesson so much. We were
dancing for 3 hours and it was great and so quick! Now we have some new figures
and a few new steps in our salsa - thanks to them! This year I and my
partner-girl Laura won the 3-rd place in Salsa championship in Vilnius between
professionals. So, thanks for my teachears - Malik & Sensual.

Dear Malik & Sensual,
I hope you remember us in "Fogo Vivo" and "La Rueda" where we have had really big fun with you together with Bangkok salsa group.
We all miss you very much and we hope you can keep your promise and your schedule to be back to Thailand on April 2006.
I  am Italian but for work reason I'm based in Thailand since long time and I have been dancing salsa all around the world  since almost 5 years.
Here in Bangkok we have had many and various instructors in transit but I have never seen one like you.
Besides your  modesty and semplicity you are really a great instructor.
You teach with passion and high tech system easy to undertand because it follows the logic, consequently once we get the move that you teach it can never be forgotten.
You're the only one that, even during intermediate and advanced class, enphasize the basic moves which are the key to dance a smooth salsa.
I am very happy to have meet you because with you I have enriched my salsa with various beautifull new mooves, with more style wich I show very proud on the dancing floor.
Furthermore I need also to say to whom we'll read this message, that I have found Malik a really good person,a good friend that deserves high consideration.

"Sawadee Krap" and Regards to you,

See you soon

It was a nice week, many things to talk about, but I'll be short:
Good teaching technique, very organized (you are a math teacher !  ), well documented. I don't really know what to say about you as a dancer, because your style is very diferent from what I know.Good skills perhaps.
Very much fun to hang around with you.
Best regards and good luck to you both,

Hi, Malik :))
It let me remember this summer and nice days with salsa and with realy great company :)
I was trying to visit other teachers after you and now can say for sure: YOU are the best :))
Maybe other teacher dance good and show steps good too but you let other (for
example - me) start to LOVE this dance and not afraide start to try it...
I can say only- thanks, thanks, thanks. I hope to meet you and Sensual again.
My best wishes!

Dear Malik and Sensual,

I`m Nanni from Vienna /Austria. We met in July this year at a Salsa party,
the day I first got in contact with dancing Salsa at all. I was deeply
impressed by these highly aesthetical movings, you in special I experienced
as a highlight!

I can only offer some impressions I had concerning you as a teacher – but these are as positive as they can be! You instructed my friend and me - which luck – and these hours influenced my life positively. While dancing I felt my heart
becoming one with the “rest” of me, especially with my body. Although I was
very tired, because you thought us very much very quicky (so we learned very
much very quickly ;)), I truely enjoyed these lessons so much. I experinced
you not only as a highly aesthetical dancer and leader in dancing (meanwhile
i danced with several teachers, but no one lead as sensitive and clearly as
you), but also as a person having the talent to enthusiasm people
surrounding you. You seem to be a very open human being and your
professional way of teaching Salsa - I experienced you as very pedagogical
and emotionally envolved - is an enrichment for all dancers.

I am grateful I met you, because you really motivated me to attend dancing
lessons again (I am oriental dancer originally) and that you opened that
world of Salsa to me.
Wishing you and Sensual all the best, looking forward to hear from you and
see you again,

Nanni (Marianne), Vienna / Austria
nanni.eitzenberger@gmx.at

Thats very good news that you are comming, so pitty it is only next year. You and Sensual could come here more often.

All the best from my heart to you and Sensual,

Jelena from Tallinn

As for the comments from my side. It was really cool having You here. You and Sensual provided us with a universal information regarding various salsa styles. That was highly useful for all of us.
We enjoyed Your workshops with a very students-friendly style of teaching – rotation, comprehensive clarifications and also the atmosphere that You create within Your workshops!
Thanks again for coming here and please consider combining trip back here to Vilnius if You will be arranging some workshops in the neighboring countries, like Estonia or Latvia…
Many kisses and hugs to You and Sensual.
With my warmest wishes,

First moment we saw them, we enjoyed their company a lot! Malik is very easy going and Sensual is very gentle and cheerful person. We are not dancers at all, but Malik teached us a little bit so we know some cool tihngs now :) We participated in a Malik's workshop, where we were learning Salsa with other experienced salsa fans. :)  Malik's manner to teach is very involving, he pays attention to every person in a class, he shows the movements to everybody, he also told us to change partnes every time, plus Malik he has very nice sence of humor, so we had a lot of fun there! From now I am salsa fan and I want to dance salsa more and more! Thanks Malik, looking to see you here again this summer!!!

Hi Malik and Sensual

I enjoyed both your dancing and your teaching. Hope you will both come again to Greece and will let me know in advance so I can come to repeat the pleasure

I got myself to Malik Roy's salsa workshop - and wasn't disappointed.

Malik, from France is embarking on a petit tour of Europe, kicking off in Estonia (Tallinn & Tartu) and Lithuania and ending up in India and Thailand for master classes via a long-long list of countries.

Malik focused on Puerto Rican and Cuban style couple moves. Starting with basics such as cross body leads, Malik gradually built up some smooth routines. For myself, the pace was, just right. Neither too fast or too slow.

The classes were nicely filled with plenty of space to move & see the instruction and for once the balance of guys vs gals was right, meaning it was very rare for any girl to have to stand around waiting for a partner. Plus Malik implements partner rotation ensuring everyone gets to meet everyone and see who they would like to dance with in the future.
For those who could't make it, there is a chance to learn taught routines with your own local teacher, as among students were also four instructors who are represented under Salsa.ee - Sven-Silver, Pirje, Peeter ja Diana.

Half blind with a duff eye, I had to duck out midway through the cuban lessons and missed the evening's party but would have liked to have stayed longer. All being well, as Arnie says, I'll be back.

Hola a todos!

I took part in Rueda de Casino and Salsa Cubana trainings with French salsa teachers Malik Roy and his partner Sensual and I would like to share my impressions with all of you.

The main positive thing was detailed explanation by Malik of basic steps and leading techniques as well as basic patterns, for example dile que no and enchufla. I absolutely agree that without knowing basic things about correct leading, proper basic steps and basic turns, how to keep balance and to switch directions it is not possible to move further with you dancing skills. At that point the trainings were great for beginners to learn properly the basics as well as for intermediate/advanced dancers to recall and to improve the fundamental things.

The Rueda de Casino training was mostly targeted on principles of dancing Rueda - correct position of partners, moving in a circle, changing partners.

During Salsa Cubana training we got into such patterns as Dile que no, Enchufla / Enchufla doble, Flamenco, Uno and Dos. Imho many of us started to understand better the Cuban style of salsa.

Though the classes were useful for everyone still both trainings were mostly aimed at men, unfortunately only few our guys showed up, big Thank You goes to them anyway Smile

So please if you are still thinking of going/not going to Malik and Sensual trainings do not hesitate anymore Smile Use your chance to learn something new and interesting and to look at new teachers.

Salsa-regards,
Maria

Thank you for visiting us and giving an excellent series of workshops.  You made us realise the things we were doing wrong and how to do things better.  I really appreciate your teaching style which is the most effective way of teaching salsa I have come across.  We were all really amazed at the tricks class, how you made something that seemed so difficult be so easy.

Inside the class you are a strict taskmaster and many people were nervous, but outside of the class you are a warm a friendly person.  It was a real pleasure to meet you both and we all look forward to your return visit.
best regards and big kisses to Sensual

Nom: Amal MALIK
Ville: Casablanca
Pays: Maroc

In the name of the school of dance "Salsa Friends & Family", I hold to thank you for your visit. We were very impress by your will, your patience and your training technique . We descover in you a very good teacher, a passional dancer, an onest and a good friend. We also admired Sensual, who made us notice that the beauty of the dance comes most of all from the spirit and not only from the out side look.
Most of all we thank you for the details you teached us like : name of the  movements, the look in to the eyes of the partner, try to seduce him etc., things that will be very usefull for us.
Personally I will like to dance with you again zook,  and why not with Sensual also ( you've seen that we look good together) :)...
We would be very happy to meet you again and untill then we hope we'll keep on touch by e-mail.
Miss you already,
Ana

Dear Malik and Sensual,

First, let me tell you we miss you guys already and hope to see you as soon as possible. Of course, we are sure we are going to stay in touch by email.

Now, to answer your question, and this is not just from Dragos and Raluca, but also from Dana and all our students who participated (Alina, Mihai, Lacramioara, Pastorel), we were very pleased with the workshop. You are very good teachers, make yourselves understood easily and are able to explain things logically.

A special thank you for you two from Raluca and myself for the private class, which was very helpful. We are certainly going to work on all the issues we’ve discussed.

As for your dancing abilities, not that we are in a position to judge, but we were impressed. We loved dancing with you and watching you dance (and no, Raluca will not dance the zouk, so she’s telling me… haha!)

About you as persons – let me put it this way: if we hadn’t liked you guys, we wouldn’t have spent so much time in your company!

To end, please remember to drop an email every now and then… and don’t forget to upload all the pictures on your site – we’d love to have them all! We’ll share what we shot as well!

Ok, gotta go now!

A big hug for you both from us and see you as soon as possible!
